Ed Sheeran pre-sale tickets sold out – you have one last chance

A “very limited number” of extra Ed Sheeran tickets will go on sale tomorrow [Thursday May 11] following “record breaking” demand for the star’s concert in Dubai last this year.

However promoters have remained tight-lipped about the price and category of the additional tickets, or the capacity of the hotly anticipated November 23 gig.

Promoters 117Live announced this morning [Wednesday May 10] that all tickets in all price categories had been snapped up at the early pre-sale stage – which was only open to registered customers – a day after going on sale.

However, perhaps to placate disappointed fans, a smattering of extra tickets will still be released when the official general public ticket sales open tomorrow [Thursday] – with a source saying “I give it 20 minutes” to sell out.

Official PR from the promoters described the pace of sales “something that has never been seen before in the UAE”, adding that the audience demand was “unprecedented” and “record breaking”.

The promoters refused to reveal the concert’s capacity, but a reported 30,000 punters turned out for Guns n’ Roses at the Autism Rocks Arena, where Sheeran will perform on November 23.

It is not clear what price these remaining tickets will be, with a spokesperson saying they will fall in “in certain categories”. General admission tickets began at Dh295.

An estimated 15,000 turned out for the British singer’s last UAE appearance, at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre in March 2015 – since which time Sheeran’s star has only soared further following the release of his third album ÷ (divide).

Tickets go on sale from www.117live.com from Thursday May 11 at 10am.
