Google Expands Gemini Live to All Android Users for Free

Google has extended its Gemini Live feature, a voice-powered AI chatbot, to all Android users globally. Originally introduced at Google I/O in May, the feature was initially accessible to only Gemini Advanced users before its broader rollout. Now, any Android device equipped with the Gemini app can access this hands-free conversational tool, which aims to offer a more natural, human-like interaction with artificial intelligence.

To access the Gemini Live mode, users simply need to update their app and tap the circular waveform icon. This action opens the full-screen interface with easy-to-use commands, including “End” and “Hold” buttons. Users can end conversations either via a notification or a voice command, with every conversation generating a transcript that is saved in the app’s history section.

The feature’s primary appeal lies in its conversational fluidity. Leveraging advanced AI algorithms, Gemini Live modulates voice pitch, tone, and even incorporates emotions to create a more human-like exchange. Users can select from 10 different voice types, adding a personalized touch to the interactions. However, for now, the feature is restricted to devices set to the English language, though plans are underway for further expansion to other languages.
