Amal Clooney expecting twins

Reports have been swirling about a possible baby on the horizon but now, the actor Matt Damon has confirmed that Amal Clooney is expecting twins. The prominent human rights lawyer and wife of George Clooney will welcome their babies, reportedly a boy and a girl, in the summer, said Damon to Entertainment Tonight Canada. He said Clooney had told him the news while they were working together last autumn. Damon said: “They’re going to be awesome parents. Those kids are lucky.” Although the Clooney’s have not commented, news of the pregnancy revealed by CBS’s The Talk host Julie Chen.

Sting, Justin Timberlake, John Legend and Lin-Manuel Miranda to perform on Oscar night

Sting, Justin Timberlake, John Legend and Lin-Manuel Miranda are all slated to perform the tunes nominated for Best Original Song during Oscar night on February 26. Timberlake will perform Can’t Stop The Feeling from the movie Trolls and Sting will perform The Empty Chair from Jim: The James Foley Story, the Oscar-nominated song he co-wrote with three-time Oscar nominee J. Ralph. Legend will perform both Audition (The Fools Who Dream and City of Stars from La La Land and Miranda will team up with Auli’i Cravalho to perform the Oscar-nominated song How Far I’ll Go from Moana.

Big B not ready to take final bow

Amitabh Bachchan or Big B as he is affectionately known in the industry is still going strong and has no plans to take a final bow from his prolific screen career just yet. The veteran actor, 74, took to his blog to answer the many questions he gets on his retirement.

“There is these times, the question raised by many, on why I do not retire and hang my boots up and relax… Thank you… But no thank you,” Bachchan posted on his blog. “The profession shall retire me, or my body will… Till then one strives each hour, each day.”

The actor is one of the most well known Indian celebrities and a stalwart of Bollywood. “Retirement for one is the acceptance of having conquered a peak. But there could be another peak to conquer after having conquered one. Who knows? Retirement is a forced limitation. Some accept and acknowledge it. God bless them.”

Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan post picture

Superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, who have known each other for over two decades, posted a picture on social media saying it was their first ever taken together. “Known each other for 25 years and this is the first picture we have taken together of ourselves. It was a fun night,” Khan tweeted on Saturday.

The duo was reportedly together at the birthday bash of entrepreneur Ajay Bijli in Dubai on Friday. With over 28,000 likes and 8,000 retweets, the image has gone viral on social media.

Shia LaBeouf performance art project at a New York museum shut down

Actor turned artist Shia LaBeouf has had his performance art project at a New York museum shut down after it cause a safety hazard. The Museum of the Moving Image opened the project called “He will not divide us” on Donald Trump’s first day as president three weeks ago. It was a camera streaming live footage of collaborators chanting the words around the clock and was scheduled to last for four years.

However, the museum said in a statement that the installation had become “a flashpoint for violence and was disrupted from its original intent.” Museum officials added that they were proud the museum had launched the “engaging and thought-provoking digital art installation.”

Aretha Franklin retiring

Soul music legend Aretha Franklin says she plans to retire from full-time touring after she releases a new album in September.

“I am retiring this year,” the 74-year-old singer told a Detroit TV station in a telephone interview this week. “I will be recording, but this will be my last year in concert. This is it.”

Known as the Queen of Soul, Franklin said she planned a six-month tour to support her upcoming album that will feature all original songs, several of them produced by Stevie Wonder and it will be her final tour.

Franklin began her music career in the late 1950s and has won 18 Grammy Awards.

Her last album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, was released in 2014.
