Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has thrown a “Brahmafans” (the unfailing thread to traps the enemy), if we can use the mythological metaphor from ‘Sanatan Dharm’, the term he used to attack on INDIA alliance alleging that their leaders want to destroy Sanatan Dharm. However, there is a way out from this trap simply with non-resistance, remaining modest, and telling the truth and the right path on the PM’s face, and among the electorate, which can render the trap totally ineffective.
We have a parallel in the Ramayana, which needs to be understood metaphorically. As our PM Narendra Modi threw the sacred “Brahmafans” over the INDIA alliance, much before the actual electoral battle for Lok Sabha election 2024 is even announced, a “Brahmafans” was thrown over Hanuman in the kingdom of Ravana, much before the Rama-Ravana War in Lanka. It was through this stratagem Hanuman was captured in Ashoka Vatiaka, but Hanuman kept his cool, adopted non-resistance so that his action may not be taken as disrespect to the God. Hanuman remained modest and humble to the end, told the truth on Ravana’s face that his abducting Sita was wrong, and he must return her to Rama, her husband, and ask for forgiveness for his committed sins. The result is known, Ravana was ultimately defeated in the actual battlefield of Lanka, as the epic says.
The episode clearly gives clue to the INDIA alliance how to go ahead when PM Modi himself has thrown “Brahmafans” over them with purely political motive sans any piousness of a Hindu, who always believes that one should never create an environment of violence the fire of which may consume may innocent lives. A Prime Minister fanning communalism that is potentially able to create the fire of violence, is unacceptable, and it cannot be justified on any ground whatsoever. Hate speeches under his rule has already become a norm by RSS-BJP clan, and he is known to have taken little action against them. A Prime Minister is supposed to take the country clear off the potential violence through “communal hate speeches”, either made by his own clan members or any opposition leader whosoever.
PM Modi misused the government function and tried to scandalize the “Sanatan Dharm” controversy further. It is totally unethical. He may have aimed at political mileage, but totally ignored the potential danger of his statement. Targeting the INDIA alliance he said, “They have also decided on a hidden agenda. The strategy to attack the culture of India. They decided to attack the faith of Indians and finish thoughts, values and traditions that have united the country for thousands of years.”
Such a scandal mongering by a prime minister of a country should alarm all communities, including the Hindus, behind whose name a sinister design for destroying the secular-socialist-democratic-federal republic and the dream of justice to all without any caste, religious or any bias whatsoever, is in operation, which is led allegedly by RSS-BJP clan and the government led by PM Modi himself. INDIA alliance has always been alleging it feebly, but time has come for them that they should tell it in clear terms.
DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, whose son and a minister in his cabinet, Udhayanidhi caused the origin of the present controversy, has rightly asked his party members to refrain from issuing statements on the matter saying that it is inadvertently helping the BJP in spreading false narratives.
“While the prime minister remains silent on everyday issues impacting the common man, his Cabinet focuses on Sanatana Dharma by spreading false narratives and fuelling it with support from a few media outlets,” Stalin said. “I urge our DMK leaders and cadre not to react to such diversion tactics and to continue posing questions to the BJP.”
DMK is a constituent of INDIA alliance. PM Modi has taken this opportunity to falsely superimpose the immature statement of one DMK leader over the entire INDIA alliance, which is incorrect, since he has never been authorised to make statement on behalf of INDIA alliance. Moreover, several other political parties of INDIA alliance have already distanced themselves from Udhayanidhi’s statement. When we have such evidences, how a prime minister can be said to be in the right when he alleges that the entire INDIA alliance is against Sanatan Dharm and has hidden agenda to destroy it? Opposition leaders must tell this truth in PM’s face and among the public and expose the PM on his alleged falsehood.
Leaders of the opposition must avoid PM Modi’s trap with non-resistance, as shown by Hanuman before Ravana. Mahatma Gandhi has also shown the power of non-resistance, but standing firm with the truth, while telling the ruling establishment how their rules has destroyed the common people and benefited his corporate friends.
INDIA alliance leaders must tell the truth how the poor has become poorer and has little access to unaffordable healthcare facilities. How PM Modi has been bragging about his achievement and where we stand in terms of the ground reality. How the wrong policies went against the working class and farmers and how corruption has cropped up under PM Modi which are documented by CAG and several other national and international agencies. INDIA alliance should tell on PM’s face and among public, how corruption has been institutionalised under his rule by changing rules in favour of Modi’s Corporate friends. Corruption has acquired just a different dimension.
Under the last five years hundreds of people were sent to jail merely because they criticized PM Modi’s policies, while no or little action has been taken against the rioters who happened to be supporter of BJP across the BJP ruled states, including in Manipur in the North East, Gujarat in the West, Madhya Pradesh in the Central India, Karnataka in Southern India, and Uttar Pradesh in the North.
INDIA alliance needs to tread carefully, with modesty and humbleness without duel but always exposing the communal agenda firmly, and all the aberrations inflicted into the economy and the injustices in the society. They must not sing the communal song that PM Modi has just commenced. (IPA Service)
