Samsung has been in news a lot for its upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. However, the South Korean is now in the news for its Z series of phones, which will be powered by its own operating system.
The company, which is all set to launch its latest flagships on March 29, is rumored to be working on a new smartphone known as Samsung Z4, successor of Samsung Z3 which was introduced in 2015
Samsung Z4: Approved By FCC
The FCC has approved Samsung Z4 with the model number SM-Z400F/DS. However the document doesn’t show any confirmed details regarding the features or specifications of the phone. Nevertheless, if one observes closely and reads between the lines, it can be assumed that there will be several variants of the phone, including one with dual SIM capabilities.
It is believed that the phone will be powered by Tizen 3.0 operation system. For the unfamiliar, Tizen is Samsung’s own mobile operating system, which also powers the Samsung Z3. There is also a possibility that the handset may include features like voice detection and Al assistant.
The documents by FCC confirm a few specs and features about Samsung Z4 regarding its connectivity. According to the FCC listing, the smartphone may be 5.23-inches long and 2.72-inches wide. The handset may have a lithium-ion operated battery and connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0 LE till 2GHz, GPS, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE.
Samsung Z3: Specs And Features
Samsung Z3 was launched in 2015 with a 5- inch AMOLED display along with 720 X 1280 resolution. The smartphone comes with an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.
The handset was powered by quad-core Spreadtrum SC7730 SoC clocking at 1.3GHz and housed 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage capacity. It also came with the option of memory expansion via a microSD card of up to 128 GB.
The handset also featured a Mali-400 GPU along with a removable 2600 mAh battery. The smartphone was powered by the Tizen 2.3 operating system. As for connectivity options, the phone gives its users Bluetooth 4.0, micro-USB, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n along with 4G LTE.
Given the fact that the rumored Samsung Z4 has already cleared FCC certification, two things can be safely assumed from it. The first is that this phone will likely get an U.S. launch and secondly, that the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus and Galaxy Note 8 won’t be the only smartphone launches from the company in 2017.
However, for information related to Samsung Z4’s specs and features, one has to wait patiently for rumors and leaks to surface, or the impending smartphone appearing on benchmarking sites.
