Taste of Dubai returns for its 10th year this weekend, bringing the 17-day Dubai Food Festival to an end.

Held in the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, the food fair will feature a selection of culinary offerings from 24 of Dubai’s best restaurants, including newcomers such as Namu, Cook Hall, Ramusake, Big Easy Bar and Grill and J&G Steakhouse.

Over the past decade, Taste of Dubai has featured 172 of Dubai’s top restaurants, welcomed 56 celebrity chefs and served 1,032 dishes to more than 160,000 visitors.

This year, visitors can mingle with Michelin-starred chefs Michel Roux Jr and Gary Rhodes, along with familiar Food Network stars such as Reza Mahammad and Jenny Morris. During the weekend, visitors will get the chance to cook along with chefs in cooking challenges (full schedule at www.tasteofdubaifestival.com/whats-on/cookery-school) and watch them prepare signature dishes in the chef’s theatre.

Taste features up to 60 exhibitors and vendors, including Nattas, a Portuguese bakery, and The Inventing Room, a soon-to-open sweet shop from Denver that uses liquid nitrogen in each creation.

Besides the obvious attraction – food – there’s a children’s zone to keep little ones busy and a live entertainment stage to keep the mood festive.

On Thursday night, Motown singer Billy Ocean will get in on the action, performing a multitude of hits including When the Going Gets Tough and Get Outta my Dreams, Get into my Car.

• Thursday, 4pm to midnight; Friday, noon to midnight. Saturday, noon to 11pm. Standard tickets: Thursday, Dh150 in advance, Dh175 at the door (includes Billy Ocean concert and two drinks); Friday and Saturday, Dh75 in advance, Dh90 at the door. VIP tickets: Dh240 in advance, Dh260 at the door (includes VIP lounge, three food vouchers and two drink vouchers)
