BioWare’s next game in the Mass Effect series is set to debut in March and the developers of the game have been busy promoting it. Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s campaign will take the series in a new direction as it will not feature Commander Shepard and will instead focus on a new protagonist, Scott or Sara Ryder.

Among all the excitement over the single player campaign, it seems BioWare has also been working hard to bring an improved and entertaining multiplayer experience to the players. A multiplayer beta was announced for the game previously but was later canceled by the developers to the disappointment of fans worldwide.

However, a series of tweets shared by BioWare producer, Fernando Melo, now reveal some details about the multiplayer elements, as well as character customization.

What Melo Revealed

The images in the tweets show the character customization screen in the multiplayer section of the game, while also confirming that players would now be able to play as female version of their favorite alien species – including female Krogan and female Turian.

Armor color and overall appearance can be customized as well although the face cannot be altered in the multiplayer mode.

In an interview with DualShockers, Meso also revealed that the packs system of Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode will make a comeback in Andromeda as well. Players can either buy these packs or they can acquire it in game via leveling up their character.

Characters will also have different rarity levels and depending upon these, interesting unlockable items would be available to them.

Melo also tweeted about a unique feature in Mass Effect: Andromeda which the developers are simply calling Missions mode, which they say would allow gamers to link multiplayer and single player, essentially getting rewards which can be shared in both modes.

During a multiplayer match, each player contributes towards the total experience points of the team and upon the end of the match, each player is awarded the total points earned by the team.

The multiplayer mode of Mass Effect: Andromeda will be showcased in PAX East 2017 to be held in Boston some days later.

Players on the PC and Xbox One can also try out the mode and the game of March 16 if they have an EA/Origin Access subscription. Mass Effect: Andromeda will be downloadable and playable for 10 hours as a part of the EA/Origin Access free trial.

The game would officially be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 21.
