3 Reasons The iPhone 7 Is a Better Smartphone Than The Google Pixel

We’ve seen the iPhone 7 and the Google Pixel, and yes, both devices are some of the best smartphones of 2016. They will likely still be some of the best throughout 2017. The thing is, one device is better than the other. In our mind, the better one is the iPhone 7.

There are many reasons to love the Google Pixel. It has a good design, and the Google assistant integration is probably the best we’ve ever seen. Google has done a spectacular job, and no doubt the company will improve with the next version.

Let’s talk about the iPhone 7’s best additions, and let us know if the Google Pixel is in any way better than the point’s we’re about to list here.

The iPhone 7 Simply Looks Better

Let’s be completely honest about this, the iPhone 7 looks better than the Google Pixel, and that’s surprising, seeing as the design is around three-years old. Not to mention there are more colors to pick from, and that’s always a good thing. This shouldn’t come as a surprise because Apple is known for its beautiful design, and this won’t change any time soon.

The iPhone 7 Has An Impressive Dual-lens Camera

The dual-lens camera is only found on the iPhone 7 Plus, while the regular iPhone 7 only comes with a single-lens camera. This piece of camera hardware makes it possible for users to zoom in when taking images without losing out on quality. You see, the second lens uses optical zoom rather than digital zoom, which is never ideal.

It should also be noted the dual-lens camera on the iPhone 7 Plus can be used to create “bokeh” effect. What’s that you ask? It’s basically creating a soft and blurry background while the focus is kept on the main subject in view — the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are not capable of that.

The iPhone 7 Is Resistant To Water

Look at that, Apple is finally adding features we’ve been seeing on smartphones for a number of years now. Better late than never, right? At the moment, most smartphones are not water resistant, and to be honest, they should all be. Chances are, Apple making this move could push others to do the same with all their devices.

Now, keep in mind that it’s not possible to dip the iPhone 7 under water and take videos of whales eating a shark, not going to work. It’s basically a first line defense against water damage, and that’s great.

Overall, Apple has created a wonderful smartphone with an equally wonderful operating system in the form of iOS. However, that doesn’t mean the Google Pixel is not a solid smartphone, for it is. It’s just not good enough when compared to the iPhone 7, but hey, that’s subjective.
