Bybit CEO Ben Zhou Labels Pi Network a Scam Amid Mainnet Launch

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou has publicly denounced Pi Network as a scam, asserting that the cryptocurrency exchange will not list its native token, Pi Coin. This declaration comes on the heels of Pi Network’s mainnet launch on February 20, 2025, a significant milestone that has been overshadowed by sharp volatility in Pi Coin’s market value.

In a post on X , Zhou shared a 2023 warning from Chinese authorities, highlighting concerns that Pi Network targets elderly individuals with deceptive promises, leading to personal data leaks and financial losses. He emphasized that Bybit has no intention of listing Pi Coin, dismissing claims about failed Know Your Business audits as baseless.

Pi Network’s transition to an open mainnet was anticipated to enhance the token’s real-world utility and accessibility. However, the launch was marked by significant price fluctuations. Pi Coin’s value surged over 36% within an hour, peaking at $3.41 on Bitget, before plummeting more than 55% to around $0.91 within hours. This volatility has raised concerns among investors about the token’s long-term viability.
