DUBAI // The Netherlands has announced its participation in Expo 2020.
Innovation is a link that the UAE aims to build on with the Dutch who were ranked ninth last year on the Global Innovation Index that lists world economies based on their innovation capability.
The UAE’s objective is to join the Netherlands in the top 10 by 2021 and the two countries are mapping out ways to work closely through participation in the Dubai Expo.
The Netherlands officially confirmed participation in a letter from Prime Minister Mark Rutte to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
“Expo 2020 Dubai will offer a positive message to people in the region, and in the rest of the world, through an exchange of cutting-edge knowledge and expertise,” Mr Rutte said.
