Sharjah lab technician arrested for selling unlicensed medicines

SHARJAH // An laboratory technician at a health centre has been arrested for selling unlicensed medicines to patients and staff.

Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Aawbed, head of the Eastern Region Police Department in Sharjah, said a team arrested the man at his workplace. He was caught carrying “suspicious” medicines and more were found in his vehicle and at his home.

The man, from an unspecified Asian national, admitted to police he was promoting unlicensed drugs and offering advice to patients at the health centre. He also admitted to making herbal medicines at home. He was referred to the prosecution.
