BJP to target women and youth ahead of 2024 polls

bjps grandiose plans to conquer south may lie in tatters after december 3

In the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will target women and the youth.

BJP national president JP Nadda has appointed a committee to hold sammelans (public meetings) focusing on these groups. The panel held its first meeting in the national capital at the party headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting saw the presence of Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw, Bhupender Yadav, Mansukh Mandaviya, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and party secretaries Sunil Bansal, Tarun Chugh and Vinod Tawde.

On multiple locations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that there is just one jaati or caste which is the poor. He has further said that the country needs special focus on GYAN (garib, youth, annadata or farmers and nari or women).

Keeping the directions of the PM in mind, the BJP will focus on youth and women outreach. The party is already undertaking a major programme to reach out to the poorest of the poor through the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

The party wants to woo the youth, especially first-time voters, and women, who across multiple elections, have voted for Modi and his empowering policies. “The party will organise sammelans at the booth level to reach out to these segments,” a BJP source told CNN-News18.

“The BJP is also in the process of preparing and releasing a booklet which will talk about the work done by the government. This booklet will be circulated as part of the outreach programme,” another source said.

“The booklet will focus on the youth in the fields of technology, IT, sports, culture, etc. It will also focus on burning issues such as Ram Mandir, which will be inaugurated later this month, and the contribution of the BJP, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in realising the dream of crores of Indians. Many initiatives of the government have also been for the cause of women whether it is to empower them or schemes such as the Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, or the most recent Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,” another source added.

The party will also form a committee at the Lok Sabha level, where an in-charge and a co-incharge will be appointed for better coordination.
