RAS AL KHAIMAH // Five men have been arrested for trafficking and dealing drugs in Ras Al Khaimah, police say.

The anti-narcotics department at RAK Police detained the five drivers from an unidentified country in Asia, after a tip-off about heroin being sold.

Col Adnan Al Zaabi, director general of the department, said the men had also abused drugs and were caught in an undercover operation.

No details of the operation were given and case was referred to judicial authorities.

Col Al Zaabi urged companies to monitor their employees and to report suspicious behaviour. He called on all members of the community to join efforts to eliminate drug crimes.

“Drug traffickers’ only aim is to make money, not caring if they destroy youngsters’ lives,” he said.
