AJMAN // In a bid to spread happiness and optimism, Ajman Municipality has added smiley faces to traffic lights in the emirate.
The aim was to give drivers a few seconds of happiness as they waited at a signal and the hope is that it also puts them in a better mood and thus improves their driving, said Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, director of the project management office at the municipality.
“He [Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chairman of the municipality] has come up with this idea because of his eagerness to have a happy and optimistic society where its individuals can have a happy environment that urges permanent joy,” Mr Al Muhairi said.
“As well, Ajman is a happy city that accept cheerfulness.”
