Residents voice demands at Abu Dhabi neighbourhood meeting

ABU DHABI // Residents of Abu Dhabi neighbourhoods have asked municipal authorities for improvements such as trash bins and boat slipways.

Residents of Al Bateen, Al Mushrif and Al Zaab neighbourhoods made the requests during a residential meeting, Abu Dhabi Municipality said on Wednesday.

Al Mushrif residents demanded the modification and maintenance of footpaths in their area, better organisation of waste collection, and the installation of trash bins along Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street and in front of Al Mushrif Cooperative Society.

Residents of Al Zaab asked for authorities to change the location of the exit for the petrol station in their neighbourhood, saying it causes an inconvenience to residents and congestion.

Al Bateen residents asked authorities for an update on previous demands for boat slipways and trailer parking areas.

The meeting was part of the Residential District Councils Initiative, which is intended to promote the participation of the community in maintaining the city’s appearance and clean environment.
