Fire breaks out in Sharjah free zone

SHARJAH // A fire broke out in Al Hamriya free zone in Sharjah on Monday.

The fire began at 3:30am in a land plot used to store and process vehicle tyres.

Lt Col Sami Al Naqbi, director of Sharjah Civil defence said fire crews from headquarters, Samnan, Al Hamriya and Muweileh were immediately dispatched to the area.

After the fire was extinguished, the area was cooled before handing it over to the forensics teams from Sharjah Police to investigate the cause.
