Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, brother to the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, donned his graduation robes (though figuratively this time) to celebrate the achievements of Zayed University’s Class of 2024. The esteemed guest attended the university’s commencement ceremony, underscoring the importance the nation places on education and its future generation of leaders.

Zayed University, a prestigious institution established in 1998, has become a cornerstone for nurturing the UAE’s brightest minds. This year’s graduating class, much like its predecessors, represents a diverse range of academic disciplines, from engineering and science to business and humanities. The ceremony, held on the university’s sprawling Abu Dhabi campus, was a momentous occasion, marking the culmination of years of dedication and hard work for the graduating students.

Sheikh Saif, in his keynote address, lauded the graduates for their commitment to academic excellence. He emphasized the crucial role they will play in shaping the UAE’s trajectory in the coming decades. The UAE, a nation renowned for its ambitious goals and innovative spirit, views its educated youth as the driving force behind its continued progress. Sheikh Saif highlighted the UAE’s strategic vision, “Next 50, ” which outlines the nation’s aspirations for the next half-century. He encouraged the graduates to leverage their newly acquired knowledge and skills to contribute to this ambitious roadmap.

Dr. Al Shamsi applauded their resilience and perseverance, particularly in light of the challenges posed by the global pandemic. She emphasized Zayed University’s unwavering commitment to providing its students with a well-rounded education that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a strong work ethic – all qualities essential for success in the ever-evolving global marketplace.

The ceremony also featured inspiring speeches from distinguished alumni and faculty members. These individuals shared their personal journeys and offered valuable insights to guide the graduates as they embark on their professional careers. The air crackled with a mix of excitement and anticipation as the graduates’ names were called, each student proudly receiving their diploma amidst thunderous applause.
