President-elect Donald Trump’s imminent inauguration is forcing India’s massive technology outsourcing industry to rethink hiring practices in the U.S., its largest market, as detailed in The Wall Street Journal Thursday.
For years Indian companies like Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Infosys Ltd. and Wipro Ltd. have been sending programmers and engineers to the U.S. on high-skilled worker, or H-1B, visas to perform work for U.S. firms.
Analysts say Mr. Trump, who at times during the campaign criticized the program for supplying “cheap labor,” could move to tighten visa rules.
