
Sharon AI and New Era Helium have initiated plans to develop a 250-megawatt net-zero energy data center in Ector County, Texas.
The companies have signed a non-binding letter of intent with GROW Odessa, an economic development corporation, to acquire a 200-acre site for the project.
The proposed data center will be powered by natural gas supplied by New Era Helium, with plans to implement carbon capture utilization and storage technologies to achieve net-zero emissions.
The site is strategically located near essential infrastructure, including fiber optic networks, natural gas transmission lines, and CO₂ pipeline systems, facilitating the integration of CCUS and enhanced oil recovery processes.
The joint venture, Texas Critical Data Centers LLC, aims to commence the initial phase of the project by late 2026, following the completion of due diligence and definitive agreements within the next ninety days.
