His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, officially inaugurated the Innovation Lab at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) as part of its sustained efforts to instill a workplace culture based on creativity and innovation.

The lab was launched on the sidelines of Mohammed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations currently underway at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The event was attended by His Excellency Ahmad Belhoul, the Minister of State for Higher Education, Her Excellency Noura Mohammad Hilal Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairwoman of ADNEC and Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC.

Dedicated and accessible to all employees and departments across ADNEC, the Innovation Lab aims to instill a workplace culture based on creativity and innovation at ADNEC through shaping a platform for brainstorming and effective decision-making. Through highlighting ADNEC’s services in a creative format, the lab will help employees deliver best-in-class services to ensure superior levels of customer satisfaction.

Her Excellency Noura Mohammad Hilal Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairwoman of ADNEC, said: “The Innovation Lab at ADNEC will support Abu Dhabi Government’s efforts to build a vibrant knowledge-based economy. In addition to serving as a catalyst for the sustainable improvement of our products and services, the innovation lab will respond to the changing trends in the business tourism industry through facilitating greater knowledge sharing and improved collaboration among our employees.”

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, ADNEC Group CEO, said: “As an organisation working in a highly knowledge-intensive sector, innovation is at the core of ADNEC’s business. The Innovation Lab will help our employees realise their true potential and take the lead in developing cutting-edge solutions to meet the dynamic requirements of our clients.”

Al Dhaheri added: “ADNEC counts several highly talented and qualified professionals in its team. The Innovation Lab will open up ways to leverage their intelligence and working knowledge as professionals in this competitive field, to drive innovation and stimulate creative solutions and ideas that help us exceed customer expectations. Eventually, such out-of-the-box solutions will help ADNEC promote Abu Dhabi as the most preferred MICE destination in its class.”

The innovation lab is divided into two distinct sections. The first is dedicated for existing and new clients by showcasing the samples of ADNEC’s services and outlining how they can be best utilsed to meet the requirements of its clients. The prototypes include various hospitality services, seating facilities at Abu Dhabi Convention Hall, and services offered to event organisers.

The second section of the Innovation lab stimulates creative thinking among ADNEC employees, creating a platform for brainstorming and developing creative ideas and discussing them among the teams.

Additionally, the Innovation Lab will host specialised, interactive sessions and workshops that leverage creative tools to inspire ground-breaking ideas and find solutions for evolving industry challenges.

It will provide ADNEC employees with a refreshed perspective of their work, enabling them to transform their ideas, knowledge and imagination into services and initiatives that meet the changing customer needs.

The launch of the lnnovation Lab coincides with Mohammed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations that is drawing the participation of nearly 3,000 students from various UAE universities. The event aims to encourage participants to think of new and innovative solutions to address the challenges facing the UAE in a rapidly globalized world. This requires adopting innovation as a way of life and equipping ourselves with knowledge and new skills.
