Bank Sohar Introduces ATM in Azaiba

In line with its objective to continue to enhance customer experience and touch-points across the country, Bank Sohar has further expanded its ATM network with the introduction of a new off-site ATM in Azaiba. The new ATM, located at the Mars Hypermarket, will offer greater banking convenience to customers in the area as well as to those who shop at the location.

Highlighting on the network expansion, Mr. Khamis Masoud Al Rahbi, Sr. AGM and Acting Head of Retail Banking at Bank Sohar said, “Being a customer centric organization, we continue to ensure that we deliver convenience to our customers throughout the country. Having access to Bank Sohar ATMs in prime shopping locations is in line with this objective and is also in response to the continued customer feedback we receive. As a result, this latest ATM at Mars Hypermarket in Azaiba, as with most of the others we have put into operation this year, has been strategically placed at a prime shopping destination located in a key area of the country.”

In addition to the robust ATM network, Bank Sohar continues to bolster its customer touch points across the country; enabling customers to undertake their banking transactions with ease and convenience. Such initiatives have not only been witnessed through the introduction of this new ATM, but also through the launch of five ATMs earlier in the year in Sohar, Ibri, Buraimi, Qurum, and Wadi Al Kabir, in addition to the opening of the Bank’s newest branch in Musannah, and the launch of its 1 minute Mobile Banking App available for Android and iOS devices.

Bank Sohar ATMs, now totalling over 50 across the country, operate under the OmanNet platform, offering customers the convenience of accessing their accounts 24/7 and benefit from services such as cash withdrawals up to OMR 800 per day, balance inquiries, mini-statement and PIN change facility. The Bank’s ATMs at Buraimi and Shinas border also operate with the ‘Dirhams Dispensing’ facility; thus adding immense convenience to businessmen who travel and transact business across the border on a regular basis, as well as to customers who visit the United Arab Emirates.

Those ATMs located at each of the Bank branches across the country perform a dual function; dispensing cash as well as serve as a Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) in addition the availability of fund transfer services. In doing so they offer Bank Sohar customers the advantage of all standard ATM services in addition to a cash deposit facility as a value-added service. Using this facility, customers can deposit their cash 24/7, without having the need to visit the branch during operating hours. In addition, the Bank’s E-channels, encompassing SMS banking, internet banking services which allow customers to access their bank anytime and from anywhere.
