Curtain Closes on Successful Sharjah Theatre Days with Ruler’s Support

The 33rd edition of the Sharjah Theatre Days concluded on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, with a grand closing ceremony graced by the presence of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The ceremony, held at the Cultural Palace in Sharjah, marked the culmination of a week-long celebration of Emirati and Arab theatre.

The closing ceremony commenced with a report presented by Dr. Mashhur Mustafa, Chairman of the Sharjah Theatre Days Committee. Dr. Mustafa expressed his deepest gratitude to Sheikh Sultan for his unwavering dedication to fostering the art of theatre and his continued support for playwrights and theatre productions.

Sheikh Sultan then took center stage to honor the winners of various categories in this year’s competition. The esteemed jury, comprised of prominent figures in the Arab theatre scene, had meticulously evaluated the participating productions throughout the week. The award ceremony recognized excellence in acting, directing, set design, and scriptwriting, highlighting the diverse talents showcased during the festival.

The Sharjah Theatre Days have become a cornerstone of the Emirate’s vibrant cultural scene. Each year, the festival attracts a multitude of theatre companies and artists from across the Arab world, showcasing a captivating blend of classic and contemporary productions.
