DHL Renews Partnership with Muharraq Club

Bahrain, 5 December 2016

DHL Express, the world’s leading express and logistics provider, has renewed its long-standing partnership with the Muharraq Club, one of Bahrain’s most reputed sports clubs and one of the oldest and most recognised in the GCC region. The two entities signed an agreement during a small ceremony held at the DHL Regional Office Muharraq, under which DHL extended its sponsorship support for the Club for the 2016/2017 sport season.

The agreement was signed between Mr. Nour Suliman, CEO of DHL Express Middle East and North Africa and Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of Muharraq Club, in the presence of Mr. Ghazi Nass, representative of Muharraq Club, as well as several other board members. Prominent players in the premium football team including Ismail Abdullatif, Mohammed Alhardan, and Abdullah Omar also attended the event.

The renewal of DHL’s support for Muharraq Club reiterates the Company’s commitment to supporting local initiatives that promote the values of teamwork and collaboration and foster a can-do spirit; all attributes deeply ingrained within DHL’s corporate philosophy.

Commenting on the extension of its partnership with Muharraq Club, Nour Suliman, CEO of DHL Express Middle East and North Africa, stated, “At DHL we always strive to support social entities that inspire the youth and society at large to have aspirations and work hard to reach their goals. Muharraq Club has produced some of Bahrain’s finest sportsmen and works hard to build local sporting talent and instill core values in its members.”

DHL is an avid enthusiast of group sports that endorse team values, speed and precision; globally the Company takes great pride in providing on-going support to local athletes and national sporting initiatives within its individual host countries.
