The incident was reported and Dubai Police traffic department has since arrested the man, and confiscated his 4×4 vehicle.

One video, that lasts about 45 seconds, shows the man driving erratically through standing water and bringing surrounding traffic to a standstill, as pedestrians including young children run for cover. He then drives off, with two passengers also in the vehicle.

Police said the driver can expect to face charges and a Dh100,000 fee to recover his car.

Many roads and intersections were flooded on Saturday after heavy overnight rain.
