DUBAI // With more fog forecast for the next few days, motorists are reminded to drive with caution after 28 people were injured in early morning crashes in Dubai on Monday.

Twenty-six people were injured in one of the crashes, which occurred at 6.40am on the Abu Dhabi-bound side of Emirates Road.

Police said a Mitsubishi collided with a minibus, which was then hit by other cars.

Three people suffered serious injuries and were flown to Rashid Hospital.

Brig Gen Saif Al Mazrouei, director of Dubai Traffic Police, said minibus drivers should exercise caution because accidents involving their vehicles often meant many casualties.

There was another crash on Al Ittihad Road at 5.50am in which a pickup truck swerved into a lamppost, injuring two passengers in the vehicle.

Brig Gen Al Mazrouei reminded motorists to take extra care when driving in fog by following traffic regulations and observing speed limits.

Foercasters on Monday issued a weather warning about fog and poor visibility over some central and western areas.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said that visibility could be less than 1,000 metres in Al Ruwais, Al Ghuwaifat, Sila, Al Marfa, Tareef and Al Hamra.

Weather was expected to remain fair and partly cloudy, with relative humidity likely to increase during the night and early morning over some interior and coastal areas.
