ABU DHABI // Parking in the capital will be free all day on New Year’s Day.
Residents can park for free from midnight on Sunday, January 1 until 8am on Monday, January 2.
New Year’s Day will be a holiday for all federal ministries and departments, as well as the private sector. Official work will resume on Monday, January 2, it was announced last week.
The Integrated Transport Centre at the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport reminded motorists to park legally and not block in other vehicles or disrupt traffic.
Drivers also need to obey regulations for residents-only parking, which will operate between 9pm and 8am, the centre said.
Customer care centres across the city will be closed on January 1.
