A delegation from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has recently traveled to Paris to visit ALSTOM Company, a partner of RTA’s Rail Agency and one of the leading players in the rail industry worldwide. The visit was part of RTA’s efforts to keep abreast of the latest and most innovative solutions for broadening & upgrading mass transit network, especially the metro in Dubai. RTA therefore counts on close cooperation with its global partners who boast of extensive and solid experience in this field.

Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Younes, CEO of RTA’s Rail Agency, said, “The visit intended to familiarize with the current & future trends of rail projects, screen the needs of clients & rail commuters, and review the latest developments in smart & sustainable mass transit systems. RTA visitors also focused on gaining experience through exposure to the best practices of rail systems in order to keep pace with the developments undertaken by several leading cosmopolitan cities in the field of rail systems.

“During the visit, we made a presentation about the innovation strategy of Dubai Metro through which we have stressed RTA’s ongoing endeavours to bring happiness to public transport users, especially the metro riders. This objective is achievable through close contact with advanced countries & cities, which have gone far & wide in this line of business in using sophisticated, smart & sustainable technologies. Such advancements make mass transit systems, including trains, more convenient, faster and safer, besides rendering daily mobility an enjoyable experience for large spectrums of the community,” explained Abdul Mohsen.

Such visits to advanced countries offer us a chance to meet with senior specialists & experts of rail projects as well as operators, maintenance contractors, manufacturers and the concerned public transport authorities. These meetings also offer a chance to exchange expertise, knowledge and ideas about the integration & efficiency of rail systems and lines,” added the CEO of Rail Agency.
