UAE participates in anti-ISIL coalition's meeting

ABU DHABI // The UAE participated in a meeting of the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, held on Thursday at the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, NATO, in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

The UAE delegation was headed by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and included high-ranking Ministry officials and officers.

Important issues discussed during the meeting included security challenges impacting stability, the fight against terrorism and terrorist organisations as well as advancing the level of co-ordination between participating counties, in light of the fast-paced developments in the region, with the aim of formulating procedures that would serve regional and international security, reported Wam, the state news agency.
