Visa has unveiled its Tap-to-Add Card service in Jordan, enabling cardholders to incorporate their Visa contactless cards into digital wallets by simply tapping them on their mobile devices. This initiative aims to enhance the security and convenience of digital wallet provisioning, eliminating the need for manual data entry—a process often prone to errors and potential security vulnerabilities.
Since its global introduction in September, the Tap-to-Add Card feature has gained significant traction. In Jordan alone, over 542 tokens have been enabled, demonstrating the technology’s effectiveness in streamlining and securing digital wallet provisioning.
This development aligns with Visa’s broader strategy to enhance digital payment experiences worldwide. The company has been testing a range of new services, including Tap to Confirm and Tap to Receive Funds, aimed at facilitating various payment interactions. These initiatives reflect Visa’s commitment to adapting to the evolving digital landscape and meeting the growing demand for secure, efficient payment solutions.
In addition to enhancing user convenience, the Tap-to-Add Card service offers benefits across the payment ecosystem. By simplifying the process of adding cards to digital wallets, it encourages more consumers to adopt digital payments, thereby supporting merchants and financial institutions in expanding their digital offerings.
