Hello Games has announced that a new update will be released for No Man’s Sky this week.

As described on the game’s official site, the update will be called the “Foundation Update” because it will bring “the foundations of base building” and “is putting in place a foundation for things to come.”

No additional details were revealed, but detailed patch notes will come on the game’s log page, and the release is coming “soon.”

“Our small team has been hard at work on development, testing and certification for the Foundation Update,” the post reads. “It won’t be our biggest update, but it is the start of something.”

The post also took a moment to address the controversy around the release of No Man’s Sky.

“The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic,” Hello wrote. “We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about. Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone.”

“This update will be the first small step in a longer journey. We hope you can join us,” the post concludes.

This post marks the end of a period of silence from Hello Games, interrupted recently by a hack of the developer’s Twitter and email accounts. Prior to that, a patch for the game was released in September.
