Trend: labels we're loving

From eco-friendly fashion and street wear to beauty boutiques, here are five brands to watch out for.

Eco-friendly fashion

Beirut-based fashion-conscious label Vanina is known for its quirky upcycled statement accessories. This season, Tatiana Fayad and Joanne Hayek, the girls behind the brand, unveiled their first ready-to-wear collection, along with a range of chic handbags and festive footwear. Materials are ethically sourced, and many pieces are handcrafted in refugee camps in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley. Catch the brand at the last few days of its pop-up store at Galeries Lafayette in The Dubai Mall, or shop online.

From Dh330; available at Galeries Lafayette in The Dubai Mall until January 5, or online at www.shop.vanina.me.

Thirst quencher

Italian womenswear label Pinko has partnered with Coca-Cola to create a street-style-inspired collection of ready-to-wear. Far from cheesy and cheap-looking, the collection embodies it-girl style, in a clever marriage of pop culture and grunge glamour. Expect chunky sweatshirts, sleek joggers, deconstructed T-shirts and jackets with on-trend appliqués, plus some special renditions of the Pinko Love Bag.

From Dh350, available at Pinko stores in the UAE

Portal play

The Abu-Dhabi based concept store The Luxury Arcade, known for its niche selection of luxe street labels, has just launched its e-commerce website. Now, you can look up founder Lina Mustafa’s selection of street-style staples online, with free delivery across the UAE. Expect to find unique new-season pieces from brands such as Fenty x Puma and T by Alexander Wang, along with online labels such as House of Nomad and L’Afshar.

Bag that box

Stella McCartney’s popular Falabella bag is somewhat of a handbag staple among discerning style connoisseurs who admire the designer’s eco-friendly approach to design. The label has now launched a hard-box-style of its signature bag, available in an embossed croc-like exterior, smooth eco-alter nappa finish or a studded design featuring an embroidered bird.

From Dh4,800; available at Stella McCartney boutiques in the UAE

Japanese beauty haven

Japanese beauty giant Shiseido has just opened its first stand-alone beauty boutique in the Middle East, at Dubai’s upcoming City Walk 2 district. In addition to shopping Shiseido’s skincare and cosmetic products, customers can book from a menu of personalised Japanese body and beauty treatments like the Ultimate Radiance Facial, Wrinkle Resist Facial and Body Sculpting.

Located at City Walk 2, open 10am-10pm Saturday — Thursday and 10am-midnight on Fridays
