This epic independent film endeavor tells the story of a construction worker named John Knox (Bryan Brooks) who joins forces with a sharp-shooting detective (Madrid Amora Mora) in search of John’s missing wife. During their search, the two unknowingly find themselves entangled in the sinister plan of a powerful cartel boss who is planning a citywide takeover. The cartel has administered a newly discovered drug to thousands of unwilling participants. The drug induces the brain into a zombie-like stage whilst enhancing the body with super human strength. The crime boss’ plan is to attack an American city with a horde of ‘zombies’ just before laying seige of the city by force. The malevolent cartel boss will soon discover that he has underestimated the tenacity of his new adversaries.

Independent filmmakers are known for their freedom of creativity and content. Due to their low budgets, most independent projects do not incorporate renowned actors nor directors, but instead rely on the sheer determination to impress their audiences. Thus, Brooks worked tirelessly for years in the creation of his film alongside longtime friends Madrid Amora-Mora, Brandon Hamilton, Charlie Woods and Tyrone Hutton. The result of all that hard work is a gritty, non-stop action movie with an 80s style that is every bit the quality and standard of a much larger budget Hollywood film.

St. John Bosco and the NFHS Network will form an affiliate partnership to produce and live stream high school sporting events powered by students.

BELLFLOWER, CA, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — St. John Bosco High School is leading the way in bringing coverage of high school sports to the masses. On the heels of their partnership with For A Bright Future Foundation that brought a brand-new media lab to their campus and their subsequent plans to launch their own streaming network, Bosco+, St. John Bosco has now established an affiliate partnership with the NFHS Network.

The NFHS Network, operated by PlayOn! Sports, is the leading network for access to high school sports in the country, offering audiences unlimited access to live and on-demand games. St. John Bosco, as an NFHS Network Affiliate, will produce selected Bosco home and away games, and other games in the CIF Southern Section for the Network as a result of this new partnership. The NFHS Network will provide camera systems for the school’s baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer and swimming facilities as well as production software for the school’s media lab. Further, the NFHS Network will collaborate with St. John Bosco’s Film & Media Arts Pathway program on training and curriculum development for its students, who will produce each live event.

The partnership will involve a multi-sport, student-powered production initiative for Bosco home and away games and will later expand to additional schools in Southern California to expand the broadcast web for the NFHS. The partnership is slated to kick off with St. John Bosco’s National Championship winning football team’s home opener on Friday, August 18 versus Liberty High School.

In the 80’s, during Dr J’s tenure as a member of Epic Records’ Pop-Dance group Will To Power, the group achieved international notoriety with their Peter Frampton/Lynyrd Skynyrd medley “Baby I Love Your Way/Freebird Medley.” This song was at the No. 1 spot for a week on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached No. 2 on the Billboard adult contemporary chart. In the UK, the song reached No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart. By the end of 1988, Will To Power’s self-titled album reached No. 68 on the Billboard 100 album chart. Over the next forty years, Dr J would travel the world as a solo artist, fronting his own bands and establishing his name in the music industry. Jeff Lorber, a Grammy Award winning keyboardist, plays keys on the project; Lorber has worked with industry legends such as Dave Koz, Eric Benet, and Herb Alpert to name a few; and Lorber is also credited for introducing saxophonist Kenny G to the mainstream. Darryl Tookes, who has done vocal work with the likes of Quincy Jones, David Foster, Sting, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and Christina Aguilera (to name a few), performs vocals on the EP’s ‘Vocal Mix’ track. Chadwick Watkins is credited for his work on the EP’s “A W Remix,” and as an accomplished musician in his own right, he is credited with performing at Showtime At The Apollo; The White House; ‘America’s Got Talent’; BET’s ‘Bobby Jones Gospel’; and he has also performed extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa, South-East Asia, and the Caribbean. And the late great legendary guitarist Chuck Loeb, who in his career received three Grammy Award nominations for his work in music, makes a posthumous appearance as a featured musician on this project.

Honoring the Amazing Individuals Who Volunteer and Support Nonprofit Causes

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — New romantic dramedy feature film, A NEW LIFE, premieres a moving story of family, love, and new beginnings with its North American TVOD release today, August 11, 2023, on Amazon Prime, and all major digital platforms.

A NEW LIFE comes from award-winning filmmaker Choice Skinner (Wingman Inc., Black Lightning Tobias’ Revenge) and follows Ronald Ferguson, a devoted father who reluctantly enters back into the dating scene with the help of his young daughter, Briana. It’s been six years since the untimely passing of his wife Stephanie, when a parent-teacher meeting at his daughter’s school introduces Ronald to Serena, an enchanting teacher who captivates him instantly. Despite their strong attraction towards each other, Ronald struggles with severe emotional barriers due to the loss of Stephanie, making it difficult for him to open himself up to Serena and new love.

The film stars Chris Rouse (The Wrong Valentine) as Ronald and Daffany McGaray Clark (John Henry, Fosters) as Stephanie, along with key roles from Kyndra Mack (A Rose In Concrete), Danny Joo (All American), Danny Royce (NCIS), Joan Moten (Maggie) and Kailah Ami, making her acting debut alongside NFL star Josh Butler.

Looking to tell a story showcasing Black men through another lens, Skinner explains “Black men are multi-faceted and so much more than what is often shown in current media. I hope this film will entertain audiences, but also help change the narrative by offering a different perspective of black men today.”

Skinner wrote, directed, edited and produced the project under his Darkan Entertainment banner, which he formed in 2010, an independent film and media production company dedicated to creating high-quality film, television, and media content with a strong focus on redemptive and empowering themes, expressly related to the Black community.

A Brooklyn native, Skinner first gained attention as a filmmaker for his award-winning dramatic short Brotherly Love, followed by winning Octavia Spencer’s Facebook Short Film Competition with his short A Second Thought. He went on to direct his first full length feature film, Wingman, Inc., teaming with writer-producer Tony Germinario.

Skinner began his entertainment career as an actor and has amassed numerous credits including the TV shows All American, The District, How I Met Your Mother, The Shield, and Lost, as well as the films Killjoy 2 Delierance From Evil, Black Magic, Cryptz, Transylmania, and Free Samples starring Jessie Eisenberg and Jason Ritter. Currently, Skinner is in development on the feature horror film The Legend Of Ciscero.
