DUBAI // Six people have been arrested over a Dh3 million robbery of a bank truck owned by a Dubai cash in-transit company.

The suspects, from Asian countries, were arrested on Tuesday night in an apartment in Al Rashidiya following investigations, said Maj Gen Khalil Al Mansouri, assistant commander of CID at Dubai Police.

Maj Gen Al Mansouri said one of the suspects was a security guard who works for the company that owned the truck.

“We discovered that he managed to unlock the vehicle’s door and steal the money, after which he fled,” he said.

Police said they located the suspect and found that he was part of a six-member gang, all of whom worked for the same company.

“The entire amount was found in their possession,” said Maj Gen Al Mansouri.

The suspects will be referred to prosecutors following the investigations.
