Spotify is expanding its library of podcasts to now feature more original content.
The popular music streaming service announced on Thursday the upcoming launch of three new original podcasts that will debut on its platform.
While each of the three audio shows are different, they all follow the similar theme of exploring aspects of the music industry and music as it relates to pop culture.
The first series, Showstopper, combines both of these, by featuring a pop culture analysis of music moments found in TV. Hosted by Naomi Zeichner, the editor-in-chief of The Fader magazine, Showstopper will include interviews with music supervisors as Zeichner talks about the music in the series like Girls, OC, Scrubs, Stranger Things, and Being Mary Jane.
Showstopper will air biweekly, and premieres on Feb. 23.
Premiering March 14 is the podcast Unpacked, which is all about giving the listener insight into the popular festivals that sweep the country.
Co-hosts Matt FX, the music supervisor for Comedy Central’s Broad City and Spotify Studio’s Michele Santucci travel around to attend the these big cultural events, and the podcast will feature interviews with musician, filmmakers, app creators and food-makers who are the creative minds that help make festivals a success.

The third new original podcast is all about the legendary music executive Chris Lighty. While the podcast is tentatively titled The Chris Lighty Story, this show will chronicle the personal and professional life of he exec, who is known to have helped shaped the music careers of 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Missy Elliott, Puff Daddy and Foxy Brown.
Hosted by Reggie Ossé, this podcast will feature commentary from many big names in music like Russell Simmons, Fat Joe, Warren G, The Violator Crew, Noriega, DJ Red Alert, and Troy Carter.
More than just an biography, the podcast will touch on race issues, mental health and of course the music.
The Chris Lighty Story premieres in April.
These three new podcast are only the beginning of the new titles that will debut on the platform. Spotify is expected to release even more exclusive content, with more titles to be announced later this year.
The new originals reveals that Spotify is aiming to make a name of itself for being the service that offers quality programming as well being a music streaming service.
