ABU DHABI // Emiratis in the United States have been warned about the tornadoes that have hit Florida, Georgia and Mississippi.
On Monday, the UAE Consulate in New York advised its citizens, particularly those living in the southern east coast area, to pay attention to local news reports and adhere to official advice issued by authorities.
At least 18 people have been killed after the storms tore though the southeastern United States.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported extensive damage in some parts of Georgia, with felled trees and downed power lines.
In case of emergency, the UAE consulate said Emiratis should call local emergency services or contact the embassy.
