Dubai Ruler attends National Defence College graduation

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday took part in the graduation ceremony of the second intake of National Defence College students.

The event in the capital was attended by other officials including Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development.

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the graduates for choosing to join the NDC as the way to leadership, the state news agency Wam reported.

He also spoke of the college’s high academic achievements, telling graduates and guests this had been attained by unlimited support from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Chairman of Supreme Council of the National Defence College.

Other speakers included Maj Gen Staff Pilot Rashad Al Saadi, commander of the college.

Sheikh Mohammed’s attendance at the ceremony, Maj Gen Al Saadi said, reflected the interest of the country’s leaders in the UAE’s citizens and national institutions.

The major also congratulated the graduates.

They will ably shoulder their responsibilities to serve and protect the interests, security and gains of their homeland, he added.
