Dubai is poised for a surge in tourism, thanks to a recent relaxation of visa regulations by the UAE. In a move aimed at attracting visitors and boosting the local economy, the UAE introduced a new five-year multiple-entry visa specifically for tourists. This visa allows visitors to enter the country multiple times within a five-year period, with each stay lasting up to 90 days and the option of a single extension for an additional 90 days. This translates to a maximum cumulative stay of 180 days per year.

This innovative visa program is particularly targeted towards India, a major source market for Dubai’s tourism industry. With over 2.46 million Indian visitors flocking to Dubai in 2023, the new visa scheme aims to further strengthen this crucial tourism segment. The simplified application process and extended validity of the visa are expected to make Dubai a more attractive destination for frequent visitors and business travelers from India.

The year 2023 that saw a record-breaking 17.15 million international visitors enjoying Dubai, and the emirate is setting its sights even higher.  This was nearly 3 million more visitors compared to 2022, representing a significant 19.4% year-on-year growth. This surge not only surpassed pre-pandemic levels but also exceeded the previous record set in 2019, solidifying Dubai’s recovery and continued momentum.

Industry leaders attribute this success to Dubai’s commitment to offering diverse and innovative tourism experiences catering to a wide range of travelers. From world-class shopping and iconic landmarks to thrilling entertainment and cultural exploration, Dubai continues to attract visitors seeking unique and memorable experiences.

Industry experts are optimistic that the new visa regulations, coupled with Dubai’s ongoing efforts to enhance its tourism offerings, will fuel a significant increase in visitor arrivals in the coming years. This tourism boom is expected to generate substantial economic benefits, not only for the hospitality and travel sectors but also for other related industries such as retail, entertainment, and transportation. As Dubai unveils its revamped visa program, the city gears up to welcome a new wave of tourists eager to explore its vibrant offerings and dazzling cityscape.
