RAK Properties has signed a AED30 million ($8.1 million) enabling works contract with Al Nuaimi Group for its upcoming Anantara Resort & Spa within the Mina Al Arab development.
The contract between Al Nauimi Group and RAK Properties includes piling and earthworks for a 306-room resort, which will be operated by Minor Hotels under its Anantara brand when it opens in late 2018.
The property will feature Ras Al Khaimah’s first Maldives-inspired overwater villas, four restaurants, a spa and other leisure facilities, a statement said.
Mohammed Sultan Al Qadi, RAK Properties managing director and CEO, said: “Once construction is complete, Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa, will form a key part of the international hospitality offering of our largest development in the emirate, providing visitors and residents with an iconic venue to relax and be entertained.”
The Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort will be situated within a secluded area with its own 9,000 sq m private beach overlooking an eco-reserve lined with mangroves.
The hotel, whichwill be Minor Hotels’ first foray into the emirate, will also offer an all-day dining option, a Thai specialty restaurant, a seafood restaurant and an outdoor sun bar.
Earlier this year the developer announced the next phase of Mina Al Arab with an investment of AED5 billion. Measuring approximately 811,420 sq m, the development will feature an international 5-star hotel, a 4-star lifestyle resort, serviced apartments, a shopping mall, beautiful beach and waterfront apartments, villas and townhouses with a private beach clubhouse, and various beachfront al fresco dining and entertainment venues.
