Hyderabad-based Drogo Aerospace has delivered 41 JK 250e surveillance drones to the Indian Army, advancing a ₹72-crore order that places the defence technology firm among a growing group of domestic companies supplying unmanned systems for frontline military use.
The first batch was received by officials of the Army’s Southern Command in Nashik, Maharashtra. The delivery forms part of a 217-drone contract, with the company aiming to supply the remaining 176 units by August 2026. The schedule gives Drogo Aerospace a tight execution window at a time when demand for tactical drones is rising across reconnaissance, border monitoring and battlefield support roles.
The JK 250e drones have been developed and built by Drogo Aerospace for surveillance, reconnaissance and other military missions. The platform can fly for up to three hours on a single charge, giving field units extended aerial coverage without depending on conventional runway infrastructure. The drone’s role is centred on intelligence gathering and real-time observation, areas that have become central to ground operations as armies adapt to a battlefield shaped by low-cost aerial systems, loitering munitions and sensor-driven targeting.
Drogo Aerospace founder and chief executive Yeshwanth Bonthu said the delivery validates the company’s technology base, manufacturing capability and commitment to national security. The company is now working on indigenous loitering munitions, long-endurance UAVs, AI-powered aerial intelligence platforms, advanced surveillance systems and reconnaissance products aimed at future operational requirements.
The order also marks a transition point for the company, formerly known as Drogo Drones Pvt Ltd. Its rebranding as Drogo Aerospace reflects a broader move beyond conventional drone manufacturing into defence, aviation, unmanned systems, satellite-linked platforms and aerospace technologies. Headquartered in Madhapur, Hyderabad, the firm has positioned itself as a next-generation unmanned systems developer at a time when procurement policy is opening more space for private manufacturers and specialised start-ups.
The company is setting up a 100,000-square-foot drone manufacturing facility at Maheshwaram in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district. The state government has allotted about 4.5 acres to the firm within the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster for the project. The facility is expected to generate around 500 additional jobs, adding to an existing workforce of about 300. The investment is designed to support scale production as defence orders move from prototypes and limited trials to larger supply commitments.
The delivery comes as the armed forces are accelerating induction of drones for tactical and operational roles. Planned domestic military drone orders may exceed $2 billion this year, with deliveries expected over 18 to 24 months. More than 600 drone and component companies now operate in the country, including over 100 focused on defence applications. The sector includes large industrial groups as well as specialist start-ups developing reconnaissance platforms, logistics drones, loitering munitions, precision-strike systems and critical components.
Battlefield developments over the past three years have sharpened the focus on unmanned systems. The war in Ukraine demonstrated how inexpensive drones can alter artillery targeting, logistics interdiction and frontline surveillance. Conflicts in West Asia have further highlighted the value of layered air defence, counter-drone technology and rapid intelligence cycles. Along the northern and western frontiers, persistent surveillance has become a core requirement for ground formations operating across difficult terrain and extended lines of control.
The Ministry of Defence has also widened support for smaller firms through innovation challenges and procurement pathways aimed at turning prototypes into deployable systems. Under the iDEX framework, hundreds of start-ups, MSMEs and individual innovators have entered the defence innovation ecosystem since 2018. Dozens of prototypes have received procurement clearance, and contracts worth thousands of crores have moved from concept development into acquisition. This has helped shorten the distance between battlefield requirements and production-ready technology.
For Drogo Aerospace, execution of the JK 250e order will test its ability to deliver at scale while maintaining quality and mission reliability. Military drone contracts require not only airframe performance but also secure communications, rugged field handling, dependable batteries, payload integration, training, maintenance support and spare availability. The Army’s experience with the first batch is likely to shape follow-on acceptance, deployment tempo and confidence in the remaining units due by August.

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 9 June 2026 – Credit Bureau (Singapore) Pte Ltd (CBS) and Experian Information Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Experian Malaysia) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop a two-way cross-border credit reporting service between Singapore and Malaysia.
From left to right: Ms. Dawn Lai, Chief Executive Officer of Experian Information Services Malaysia and Mr. William Lim, Executive Director of Credit Bureau Singapore
The MOU establishes a framework for collaboration to facilitate consented cross-border credit report applications for individuals with financial footprints in either country. The initiative aims to enhance financial inclusion, strengthen credit risk assessment, and support the growing economic integration between the two neighbouring markets.
Singapore and Malaysia share one of ASEAN’s most dynamic economic relationships, with bilateral trade regularly exceeding SGD 100 billion annually. Both countries maintain deep labour, education and business linkages, supported by strong digital infrastructure and rapidly growing digital financial services ecosystems.
The collaboration is strategically aligned with the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), which places strong emphasis on digital industries, data-driven enterprises and technology-enabled services. As the digital economy accelerates cross-border business models, including fintech, e-commerce, digital banking and platform-based SMEs, trusted cross-border credit infrastructure will be critical to enabling secure digital onboarding, responsible lending and seamless access to capital across both markets.
Under the MOU, CBS and Experian Malaysia intend to collaborate on a cross-border initiative that enables the structured and secure exchange of individual credit information between the two markets.
The proposed framework will define:
The operational roles of the “Source Bureau” and “Processing Bureau” in generating and facilitating cross-border credit data applications
Secure mechanisms for obtaining and managing consumer consent for a one-time release of the credit report
Personal data protection and compliance safeguards in accordance with applicable laws
Commercial and governance models to support sustainable implementation
For consumers, the initiative is expected to improve access to financial products by enabling lenders to consider verified credit histories of individuals from across the border. This may particularly benefit digital-native workers, entrepreneurs and professionals whose financial footprints span both jurisdictions. As more individuals build financial footprints on both sides of the Causeway, the ability to securely and responsibly reflect their credit history across borders becomes increasingly important. A structured cross-border credit reporting framework can help ensure that consumers are assessed more fairly and comprehensively, rather than being treated as “new-to-credit” applicants when they move between Singapore and Malaysia.
For financial institutions, access to cross-border credit data can provide a more holistic view of an applicant’s financial obligations, supporting stronger digital underwriting, reduced cross-border fraud risk and more confident expansion into adjacent markets. Improved cross-border data transparency may also enhance operational efficiency and portfolio resilience in increasingly digital lending environments.
CBS and Experian Malaysia emphasised that data protection, regulatory compliance, and consumer consent are foundational to the initiative. Both parties are committed to working within their respective legal and regulatory frameworks and engaging relevant authorities to facilitate responsible implementation. The MOU also contains confidentiality provisions governing information exchanged in the course of collaboration.
Mr. William Lim, Executive Director of Credit Bureau Singapore, said:
“As individuals and businesses operate more seamlessly across Singapore and Malaysia, credit information systems must evolve to reflect cross-border realities. This collaboration represents an important step towards enabling more seamless and responsible access to credit for consumers.”
Ms. Dawn Lai, Chief Executive Officer of Experian Information Services Malaysia, added: “Trusted data collaboration is key to strengthening digital financial ecosystems. By working together, we aim to enhance financial inclusion, improve risk transparency and support sustainable growth across both markets.”
Mr. Vincent Yap, CBS Board Chairman & Group Chief Credit Officer, Consumer Credit Risk Management of Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation, said “The access to cross-border credit data can provide a more comprehensive view of an individual applicant’s financial obligations, supporting more accurate risk assessment outcomes, reduced cross-border fraud risk and promote seamless access to capital across both markets.”

Structured around four thematic expressions, the exhibition unfolds a poetic journey through light, form and emotion. “Luminosity · The Spirit of Nature” captures the ethereal beauty of living beings, distilling their essence into luminous, crystallised forms that reflect the pure vibrancy of living creatures. “Luminosity · The Glow of Modernity” presents whimsical perfection and unlimited possibilities seen in fairy tales through light and shadows, creating striking, avant-garde visual narratives.
In “Luminosity – Beyond Void & Form,” the serene elegance of Zen philosophy is reinterpreted through a delicate interplay of classical and modern aesthetics, while “Luminosity – Flowing like Water” evokes fluidity and abundance, expressing grace, balance and openness.
A Vivid Transformation into Luminous Clarity
‘Ethereal Flow’, which includes a striking aerial installation and inspired by Laozi’s philosophy—evoking water’s quiet virtue of nurturing all without contention through a dazzling, immersive visual experience.
“Ethereal Flow” — a contemporary, fashion-forward series that includes a large-scale aerial installation – is the highlight in the “Luminosity · Flowing like Water” section series. Inspired by a classic passage from Laozi’s Tao Te Ching— “The highest goodness is like water; water benefits all things without contention, embodying the virtue of humility”—the work reflects the idea that true virtue, like water, nurtures and sustains all without striving. With its dynamic sense of scale and dazzling visual impact, the installation invites audiences to reflect on reality and the nature of humanity.
Ethereal Stone: A Modern Table – 4.2-metre-long and only eight pieces in the world – draws inspiration from the classic anecdote of Mi Fu reverently addressing a scholar’s rock, reflecting the deep-rooted Chinese tradition of stone appreciation and its unique cultural heritage.
“Ethereal Stone” and “Timeless Dialogue: Taihu Stone” is a collection of four pieces at the “Luminosity – Beyond Void & Form” section. The works draw inspiration from the classic anecdote of Mi Fu reverently addressing a scholar’s rock, reflecting the deep-rooted Chinese tradition of stone appreciation and its unique cultural heritage. Centred on the intricate beauty of Taihu stones, the works reinterpret their delicate, sculptural forms through a contemporary lens. By bringing traditional culture into dialogue with modern artistic expression, the series creates a poetic exchange across time. It also serves as a gentle reflection for today’s fast-paced society—encouraging a return to inner contemplation, and a rediscovery of cultural identity and humanistic spirit through the philosophies of Chinese tradition.
“Dazzling Galaxy – Crystalline Art Exhibition” – open now until September 13 at GalaxyArt – invites visitors to immerse themselves in a radiant convergence of innovation, culture and artistry, further enriching Galaxy Macau’s dynamic cultural landscape and reaffirming the award-winning luxury resort’s commitment to world-class creative experiences.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Media OutReach Newswire – 5 June 2026 – The global demand for AI computing power continues to experience a massive construction boom. At the highly anticipated exhibition COMPUTEX 2026 in Taipei, Karrie, a globally leading server mechanical engineering solutions provider, showcased its latest advancements in AI server chassis and rack-scale mechanical solutions. Observing the latest dynamics from the recently concluded NVIDIA GTC 2026 conference to this year’s COMPUTEX, it is evident that AI hardware infrastructure is rapidly evolving from the server level to rack-scale deployment, placing higher demands on high-density mechanical design, modular configuration, and liquid-cooling readiness. Driven by this evolution, Karrie has expanded its footprint from traditional server chassis manufacturing into the global AI hardware ecosystem, encompassing early engineering involvement, precision mechanical component development, and volume manufacturing execution.
Since its official inclusion in NVIDIA’s approved and recommended vendor lists for server chassis and rack components in September 2025, Karrie has continually advanced its collaborations based on the NVIDIA MGX architecture and DGX-related platforms. During COMPUTEX this year, Karrie’s relevant server products and mechanical solutions have been featured prominently across the booths of major technology giants, showcasing its milestone achievements spanning from front-end R&D and collaborative design to back-end precision manufacturing. New Delhi scrapped capital gains tax on foreign institutional investment in government securities, using an ordinance to sharpen the appeal of its sovereign debt market and draw overseas capital as the rupee faces pressure from higher energy costs and equity outflows.
The exemption, effective from 1 April 2026, covers interest income and capital gains arising from the sale, exchange or transfer of specified government securities by eligible foreign institutional investors and the Bank for International Settlements. President Droupadi Murmu signed the Income-tax Ordinance, 2026 while Parliament was not in session, amending the new direct tax framework that took effect at the start of the financial year.
Foreign investors had been subject to long-term capital gains tax of 12.5% on listed bonds held for more than 12 months and withholding tax of 20% on interest from government securities. By removing the tax burden for eligible investors, the Centre is seeking to improve post-tax returns and make rupee debt more competitive at a time when global funds are weighing currency risk, oil-market volatility and geopolitical uncertainty.
The policy shift comes as the rupee has weakened by more than 5% this year, pressured by crude prices and sustained foreign selling in equities. The currency recovered after the announcement of measures aimed at attracting foreign currency inflows, but traders continued to watch oil prices, reserve levels and the central bank’s market operations for signs of durable support.
Reserve Bank of India kept the policy repo rate unchanged at 5.25% and announced steps to encourage dollar inflows, including support for foreign-currency borrowing by public sector entities, incentives for non-resident deposits and a longer window for exporters to repatriate proceeds. The central bank also revised its growth forecast to 6.6% and raised its inflation estimate to 5.1%, underlining the pressure created by imported energy costs.
The tax relief is aimed at deepening overseas participation in government securities after the inclusion of rupee bonds in major global debt benchmarks. Fully accessible route bonds have already been added to J. P. Morgan’s emerging market debt index and Bloomberg’s emerging market local currency index, widening the pool of passive and active investors that can allocate funds to sovereign debt. A separate decision on inclusion in broader global bond benchmarks is being watched by investors because it could influence medium-term flows.
Debt inflows have remained more resilient than equity flows, but the scale has not been sufficient to offset pressure from the current account and stock-market exits. Foreign investors have pulled large sums from equities this year, while government debt has continued to attract selective buying. Higher hedging costs and expectations of currency weakness have limited enthusiasm among some global investors despite the comparatively attractive yield on rupee bonds.
Market participants expect the tax exemption to help long-only funds, pension funds, sovereign investors and reserve managers that focus on net returns after tax. The measure could also support liquidity in benchmark government securities and reduce borrowing costs at the margin if foreign demand rises. For the Centre, a broader investor base would help absorb a large borrowing programme without placing excessive pressure on domestic banks and insurance companies.
The effect may still depend on factors beyond tax policy. Currency stability, inflation expectations, oil prices, fiscal credibility and the central bank’s approach to liquidity will shape overseas appetite. Investors that hedge currency exposure must still account for hedging costs, while those that remain unhedged face the risk of rupee depreciation wiping out yield gains.

FOSHAN, CHINA – Media OutReach Newswire – 31 May 2026 – As global travelers seek more diverse destinations, China has emerged as a top choice. In the first quarter of 2026, the country recorded 21.33 million border entries and exit checks involving international visitors. Among the growing array of destinations in the vast country, China’s villages have emerged as a compelling draw. To explore these gems, CGTN presents Village Voyage, a series following American host Julian Waghann and Namibian traveler Absalom Absalom through villages in Guangdong Province, located in the Pearl River Delta, north of Hong Kong. For Absalom, the journey offers what he sees as a replicable model of how villages can thrive without losing their “souls.”
Ancestral halls and the scholars who never left
In Shunde’s Yang’e Village in southern Guangdong Province, Julian and Absalom step into the cultural space of a community – once the Lu Ancestral Hall, where scholar Lu Cang founded an academy after retiring from office. It is a small village but home to 14 civil and military jinshi scholars during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, a reflection of its long-held reverence for education. A jinshi was the highest and most prestigious rank in China’s imperial civil service examination system – a scholar who passed the final court-administered exam. But the village’s living heritage does not stop at books. Here, the lion dance – an intangible cultural heritage item – passes down from old masters to children. “If they want to learn, we just provide the opportunity for the kids,” said lion dance coach Feng Jianhua. “So, they can carry forward our millennia-old culture.”
The village that gave the world kung fu
Few know Bruce Lee’s ancestral home stands in Jun’an, Shunde. Guangdong has long been the heartland of southern Chinese martial arts. Locals greet each other not with “Have you eaten?” but “Have you had your night porridge?” – a phrase that means “Have you been practicing kung fu?”
Luo Dezhi, a fifth-generation inheritor of Shaolin Wing Chun and Bruce Lee’s fellow disciple, has trained for over 50 years. “For a martial artist, virtue comes first, then a strong body,” he said. “Kung fu represents traditional Chinese culture – to strengthen the body, protect oneself, and help others.”
Soft gold from village waterways
A century ago, merchant He Mingshi shipped xiangyunsha – gambiered Canton gauze, known as “soft gold” – from Shunde’s villages down the Pearl River Delta to countries abroad, like Malaysia.
The saying goes: “A tael of gold for a tael of silk.” Today, this UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage is still made by hand. “It’s way harder than it looks,” Absalom said as he tried the process. Inheritor Chen Hongfa watched and smiled. From Shunde, Guangdong, the craft reaches the world.
UNESCO gastronomy inside towns
Shunde is one of only a handful of UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy worldwide. Within Guangdong – a province famous for Cantonese cuisine – Shunde is widely regarded as its birthplace. “About ten years ago, they converted this place into a food street,” a fish skin vendor said. Now, visitors come for crispy African crucian carp skin, fried milk (a recipe unchanged since 2002), and Shunde raw fish slices. “This is the best choice I’ve made this year so far,” Absalom said. “I would never imagine tasting this in a village.”
More than a series – a travel companion
Village Voyage is more than a television feature. It is a living travel guide – a “road book” that maps Shunde’s hidden gems through detailed itineraries, rich photo essays, and short-form videos. The series expands beyond the screen with guest vlogs and first-person POV footage, placing viewers directly into the boat, the kung fu training hall, and the bustling food street. For armchair travelers and policymakers alike, it offers an immersive, replicable vision of rural development. Whether you seek cultural roots, martial arts legacy, merchant wisdom, or the simple warmth of a village meal, this series delivers it all, through the quiet rituals of daily life: a bowl of porridge, a punch practiced at dawn, a piece of silk dried in sunlight.
An open, confident rural China is not a relic. It is a flight or train ride away.

Chinese retail investors are scrambling to keep access to overseas equities after Beijing imposed its toughest enforcement action yet against cross-border stock trading channels used to buy shares in Hong Kong, New York and other offshore markets.
Regulators have moved against Futu Securities International, Tiger Brokers and Longbridge Securities, accusing them of operating securities businesses on the mainland without approval, soliciting domestic clients and processing offshore trading orders in breach of securities, fund and futures rules. The action has disrupted a once-popular route for mainland investors seeking exposure to global technology stocks, Hong Kong initial public offerings and US-listed Chinese companies.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission and other agencies have ordered a two-year rectification programme aimed at closing unauthorised cross-border securities, futures and fund businesses. During the wind-down period, affected mainland clients will be allowed to sell existing holdings and withdraw money, but will not be permitted to make new purchases through the targeted channels.
The clampdown marks a sharp escalation from the regulatory warning issued in late 2022, when online brokers were told to stop opening new accounts for mainland investors and remove trading apps from domestic app stores. Existing clients had largely been allowed to continue trading, preserving a grey-zone channel that gave better-off retail investors access to overseas markets despite China’s capital controls.
Futu has disclosed a proposed penalty of about 1.85 billion yuan, while Tiger Brokers’ parent, UP Fintech Holding, faces penalties and confiscation of illegal income totalling more than 400 million yuan. Longbridge has said it will comply with rectification requirements and that client fund safety is not affected. Regulators have also indicated that illegal gains from related onshore and offshore entities will be confiscated, with final administrative decisions subject to formal procedures.
Market reaction was swift. Shares of Futu and UP Fintech fell sharply in US trading after the enforcement announcement, while pressure spread to parts of the Chinese ADR universe as investors assessed whether reduced mainland retail participation could weigh on offshore-listed stocks. Hong Kong market participants also began reassessing the impact on brokerage flows, custody transfers and IPO distribution.
Citic Securities has estimated that as much as HK$250 billion in assets in Hong Kong could be affected by the crackdown, with Futu accounting for a large portion. The figure underlines the scale of wealth that had moved through offshore brokerage platforms even after Beijing tightened scrutiny of capital outflows and online financial services.
Investors are now exploring alternatives, including moving positions by custodian transfer to licensed Hong Kong banking channels, using accounts with international banks, or relying on approved schemes such as Stock Connect, the Qualified Domestic Institutional Investor programme and Wealth Management Connect. Those channels, however, have limits on eligibility, investment scope, quotas and product access, making them less flexible than the digital brokerage platforms that gained popularity during the pandemic-era boom in US and Hong Kong equities.
Beijing’s concern is not only securities law compliance. The wider policy objective is to control capital outflows, strengthen oversight of retail investment activity and prevent unlicensed overseas institutions from marketing financial products inside the mainland. The campaign also aligns with efforts to support domestic capital markets, where authorities have been trying to stabilise sentiment and encourage household savings to flow into regulated local investment products.
For the brokers, the enforcement action threatens an important part of their client base. Futu and Tiger expanded rapidly by offering low-cost, mobile-first access to overseas securities, appealing to younger and wealthier mainland clients who wanted exposure beyond A-shares. Both companies have been diversifying into Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia and the United States, but mainland-linked business remains material to investor perceptions of their growth prospects.
The crackdown may also reshape Hong Kong’s role as a financial gateway. Licensed institutions could benefit from account transfers and higher compliance-driven demand, but regulators in the city are expected to scrutinise whether account-opening documents, residency claims and fund-transfer routes meet legal requirements. That could raise operational costs and slow onboarding for brokers and banks serving mainland-related clients.
AMD has committed more than $10 billion to Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem, targeting advanced packaging and manufacturing capacity as demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure intensifies across global data centres.
The investment is designed to strengthen the chipmaker’s partnerships with foundries, packaging houses, substrate suppliers and server manufacturers that are central to its next generation of AI systems. The programme places Taiwan at the centre of AMD’s effort to scale production of high-performance processors, accelerators and rack-level systems built for increasingly complex AI workloads.
A major focus will be Elevated Fanout Bridge, or EFB, a 2.5D packaging technology intended to improve the speed and efficiency of connections between chip components. AMD plans to use the technology in its sixth-generation EPYC central processing units, codenamed “Venice”, which are being positioned for AI, cloud and high-performance computing deployments.
The move comes as AI infrastructure spending shifts from individual chips towards complete systems that combine CPUs, graphics processors, high-bandwidth memory, networking and software. Advanced packaging has become a critical bottleneck because AI workloads require large volumes of data to move quickly between processors while keeping power consumption and heat within manageable limits.
AMD Chair and Chief Executive Lisa Su said customers were rapidly expanding AI infrastructure to meet rising compute demand. The company is seeking to combine its high-performance computing portfolio with Taiwan’s manufacturing and packaging capabilities to support integrated, rack-scale AI systems.
AMD is working with partners including ASE, SPIL, Powertech Technology, Wiwynn, Wistron, Inventec, Unimicron, AIC, Nan Ya PCB and Kinsus. These companies cover key parts of the supply chain, from advanced packaging and substrates to server assembly and mechanical architecture. Sanmina is also involved in manufacturing support for the company’s Helios platform.
The investment will support both wafer-based and panel-based EFB interconnect development. AMD and Powertech Technology have qualified what they describe as the industry’s first 2.5D panel-based EFB interconnect, a step aimed at improving scalability and production economics for high-volume AI processors.
The technology is expected to help the “Venice” EPYC processors deliver higher interconnect bandwidth and better power efficiency. That matters because data centre operators are increasingly constrained by electricity availability, cooling capacity and rack density, not only by chip performance.
AMD has also begun ramping production of “Venice” CPUs using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s 2-nanometre process technology in Taiwan. Future production is planned at TSMC’s Arizona facility, extending the supply chain beyond Taiwan while preserving the company’s close reliance on TSMC’s leading-edge manufacturing.
The “Venice” chips will be a central element of AMD’s Helios rack-scale platform, which also includes AMD Instinct MI450X graphics processors, advanced networking and the ROCm open software stack. The platform is scheduled for deployments beginning in the second half of 2026, with AMD describing the opportunity in terms of multi-gigawatt AI infrastructure rollouts.
The strategy puts AMD in a more direct contest with Nvidia, which dominates AI accelerator sales and has built a strong lead through its GPUs, networking, software ecosystem and full-rack systems. AMD’s challenge is not only to deliver competitive silicon but also to prove that it can scale complete AI infrastructure with dependable supply, efficient packaging and broad software support.
AMD’s data centre business has become the company’s main growth engine. First-quarter 2026 data centre revenue reached $5.8 billion, up 57 per cent from a year earlier, driven by demand for EPYC processors and the ramp-up of Instinct GPU shipments. That performance has strengthened investor expectations that AMD can capture a larger share of AI and cloud infrastructure spending.
Taiwan remains critical to that effort because of its concentration of semiconductor expertise. TSMC anchors the foundry side, while packaging, substrate and system-assembly partners provide the manufacturing depth needed to turn chip designs into deployable infrastructure. The concentration also creates geopolitical and supply-chain risks, particularly as governments and companies seek greater resilience across strategic technologies.

HONG KONG SAR – Media OutReach Newswire – 18 May 2026 – Doremi3babies is one of Hong Kong’s most comprehensive retailers of Caraz baby playmats and playpens, with years of accumulated experience serving local families and maintaining quality standards for every product carried. Observing that size mismatches are among the most common issues parents encounter after purchase, Doremi3babies has drawn on its local service experience to compile a practical size selection reference based on actual Hong Kong residential floor areas, helping parents identify the most suitable mat size and playpen configuration for their home.
Space Is Limited in Hong Kong Homes — Choosing the Right Size Matters According to Hong Kong’s Census and Statistics Department 2021 Population Census, the median per capita residential floor area stands at approximately 172 sq ft. The latest Housing Bureau supply statistics (2025) show that 88% of private residential units currently in the development pipeline have a usable area of less than 70 square metres (approximately 753 sq ft). In a space-constrained home, a playmat that’s even slightly misjudged in size can disrupt daily living — making preparation before purchase all the more important.
4 Steps to Choosing the Right Size The following steps help parents confirm their needs before buying, reducing the chance of a mismatch after the mat arrives home: 1. Measure the net usable area: Measure the actual spot where the mat will be placed — deducting furniture and walkways from the total floor space, not the overall unit size. 2. Consider your baby’s developmental stage: Crawling infants (approx. 4–10 months) need continuous flat surface area; toddlers (approx. 10–18 months) benefit more from playpen boundaries to define a safe zone. 3. Decide whether to pair with a playpen: If combining a mat with a playpen, calculate the usable area inside the playpen — not the mat’s outer dimensions. 4. Choose the style based on your confirmed space: Once space constraints are clear, foldable or modular designs help maximise what’s available.
A General Size Reference Based on Unit Floor Area One of the most common mistakes Hong Kong parents make when buying a playmat is estimating size based on the total unit area, rather than the net usable floor space after accounting for furniture. The gap between the two is often what leads to a mismatch once the mat arrives home.
Caraz playmats, for example, offer a range from compact sizes suited to a corner of a single room, through to larger formats that can cover the main activity zone of a living area. Using net usable floor area as the starting point, the general reference is as follows: * Under 200 sq ft: A mat around 70×140cm is a common starting point. The foldable design is especially practical — it can be stored upright against a wall when not in use, freeing up the living space. * 300–400 sq ft: Mid-size options such as 120×160cm to 140×200cm are the most common choice among Hong Kong families, balancing play space with storage flexibility. * 400 sq ft and above: Larger formats such as 160×200cm or above give infants a dedicated zone for crawling and first steps without compromising daily living.
If a playpen is being added alongside the mat, the playpen’s overall outer footprint needs to be estimated separately — it cannot be read directly from the mat dimensions alone.
Three Practical Directions for Compact Homes For families with limited floor area, these approaches are worth considering: * Choose a foldable mat: Fold it away when not in use to free up everyday living space. * Consider a modular playpen system: Adjustable configurations adapt to irregular room layouts without being locked into a fixed size. * Base your size decision on net usable area: The right standard is whether it fits and gets used — not simply bigger is better.
