Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed visits family of Emirati killed in Afghan terror attack

ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has offered condolences to the family of martyr Abdullah Mohammed Al Kaabi.

Al Kaabi, along with compatriots Mohammed Ali Zainal Al Bastaki, Ahmed Rashid Salim Ali Al Mazroui, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Ahmad Al Tunaiji, and Abdul Hamid Sultan Abdullah Ibrahim Al Hammadi, was on a humanitarian mission when he was killed in a terrorist attack on the headquarters of the Kandahar Governor in Afghanistan.

While visiting the martyr’s residence in Al Ain, Sheikh Mohammed extended his heartfelt condolences to his family. He also prayed to Allah the Almighty to rest his soul in peace and grant patience and solace to his family.

Sheikh Mohammed said that the UAE and its people are proud of the grateful sons who sacrificed their lives in the battlefields and their names will be etched in people’s hearts as symbols of national duty and humanitarian affairs.

He said Emiratis are determined to continue the march of giving, given the deep-rooted values inherited from their forefathers. He added that the love of giving and meeting challenges with solid will and provision of aid to the poor and charity work has become a legacy of the UAE people.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office, and Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, also offered their condolences to the martyr, along with Sheikh Mohammed, reported Wam, the state news agency.
