ABU DHABI // Leaders of the UAE congratulated Oman on Friday on the occasion of its 46th national day.
The President, Sheikh Khalifa, sent a cable to Sultan Qaboos of Oman greeting him on the occasion.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces,and Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed, the President’s Representative, sent similar cables to Sultan Qaboos.
“We would like to extend our warm congratulations to the Sultanate of Oman on the occasion of its 46th National Day,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid tweeted. “Congratulations to my brother HM Sultan Qaboos for such glory and people. History is witness to the brotherly and friendly ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman which are strengthened by our geography and by the great love and continuing communication between both our peoples.”
Oman declared November 23 and 24 national day holidays for public and private sector employees.
Yas Mall will pay tribute to Omani heritage in celebration of its national day with several cultural activities on Friday until 11pm.
The event, which will be inaugurated by the embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Abu Dhabi, will showcase the rich Omani heritage.
The family-focused event will feature an orchestra, demonstrations of Omani crafts, and a fashion show showcasing traditional Omani outfits and jewellery. History lovers will also get the chance to visit five photography exhibitions that display the historic and continuing ties between the UAE and Oman.
“The Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates have long historical relations and remain to be as strong,” said the Omani embassy. “The event with the title: ‘Omani Open Day: Oman and Emirates, the Soul of Friendship and Trustworthiness’ strives to further deepening the relationship between the two countries.”
The embassy said: “We are thankful to the management of Yas Mall for giving us this opportunity to express and show our gratitude to the UAE.”
