Good morals and just values are the beginnings of religious belief and the reasons why believers should look to the Prophet Mohammed’s example, mosque-goers will hear on Friday.

The Prophet urged Muslims to embrace the best of character, which was exemplified in his saying: “Indeed, by his good character, a believer will attain the status of the one who stands for prayer in the night and fast during the day”.

Islam places such emphasis on good manners that on the Day of Judgment, “Nothing is heavier on the believer’s scale on the Day of Resurrection than good character,” said the Prophet.

Good character is evidence by following morals established by the Quran and exemplifying traits of patience and trust.

The imam will tell the faithful that in today’s context upholding good moral values is one of the most important features of Emirati society.

It also fortifies the younger generation against changing their habits and traditions, besides encouraging them to preserve their noble religious principles as ambassadors of their nation and religion.

Embracing good manners is a way towards attaining God’s satisfaction as is evidenced when He praised the Prophet by saying, “and indeed, you are of a great moral character”. (Al-Qalam: 4)
