Palestinian militants launched two rockets from Gaza toward southern Israel late Wednesday, the Israeli military said. The rockets landed in open ground and caused no injuries but were a blow to the informal cease-fire that ended last summer’s 50-day Gaza war. It was the second rocket attack in eight days after a period of relative calm. Although Hamas, the Islamic militant group that controls Gaza, has worked to enforce the cease-fire with Israel, smaller, more radical groups are thought to have been responsible for the recent rocket fire, a sign of internal Palestinian tensions. One such group claimed responsibility for firing the rockets on Wednesday, but Israel says it holds Hamas responsible for all fire emanating from Gaza. In retaliation, Israel on Thursday bombed three militant training camps, but there were no casualties, Reuters reported.
