Google+ hangout: David Cameron – bold EU reformer or politician in a panic?

As the Newark by-election approaches, the
Prime Minister is reported to have said in a private
– inevitably
leaked – conversation that if the wrong candidate becomes president of the
European commission it will trigger an early referendum and a likely Brexit.
That’s some tough talk from a Tory leader who has previously insisted that
he wants to stay in the EU. Labour says he’s just playing to Ukippers in the
gallery – but, as the Newark
by-election could prove
, maybe that’s where the votes are to be
found?

In this week’s google hangout, Tim Stanley is joined by Peter Oborne and Dan
Hodges to discuss what Cameron’s up to and how it all relates Newark and
Ukip’s dreams of winning their first ever parliamentary seat. Will it be
their Waterloo, or the PM’s? Join us to discuss with the hashtag
#HangWithTim.
