The cruel killers who constitute the high command of Hamas should now be renamed Dumbass. Did these deranged fools really think that sending death squads into Israeli towns and villages to slaughter house wives, babies, 260 teenagers/Gen-Z kids at a music festival, burn entire families in their homes would do anything but trigger the moral revulsion and disgust of the world and bring global shame to the very legitimate political plight of the Palestinian cause they profess to champion in the quest to rule Gaza as their private fiefdom? Did they really think that Israel would not retaliate with a vengeful spasm of merciless airstrikes that would kill thousands of innocent Palestinian kids, women and men whose lives are mere cannon fodder for their terrorist self-enrichment? Where have all the billions of dollars in EU/US aid, Qatari petrodollars and Turkish subsidies vanished under the control of these cynical cabal of mass murderers while their Gazan subjects and human shields perish in the flames of the IDF’s napalm and white phosphorus bombs?
Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, banned and declared as a terrorist organisation in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE for very sound reasons. Untold millions of decent human beings in the Middle East know the sordid realities of Hamas/Ikhwan terror all too well and sympathy for the Palestinian cause can co-exist with hatred for Hamas/Dumbass terror.
The ground assault on Gaza will have a death toll that could well equate to the epic urban battles of the Warsaw Ghetto/Fallujah. The Sri Lankan military’s final assault against the LTTE in Jaffna cost 30,000 civilian lives and America’s kill zone against ISIS in Raqqa/Mosul meant 25,000 dead in the crossfires of hell. As the IDF hunts down the Hamas elite, the Gaza tunnel labyrinth will be the Ho Chi Minh trail and Tora Bora caves of our times. As always, innocent Palestinians will pay the price for the recklessness of their leaders, as did the 20,000 souls lost in the summer of 1982’s siege of West Beirut. Gaza will be the Stalingrad that the PLO’s Arafat once promised as the fate of Beirut before he took the cruise ship to the Greek isles and Tunis. No political cause is worth the mangled limbs of a dead child or the tears of silent sorrow that will haunt the lives of its parents forever.
The US is now in a de facto state of war with the mullah regime in Iran, even if our region refuses to grasp this existential fact. Hezbollah is firing rockets into Northern Galilee again but Nasrallah has not said a word yet from his Fuhrerbunker. This means he expects the F/A-18 Hornet warplanes and Tomahawk missiles of the two US carrier strike forces in the Eastern Med to destroy his missile arsenals. The USS Carney intercepted missiles and drones fired by the same Houthi rebels that once targeted oil depots in Abu Dhabi and Abqaiq, KSA. Pro-Iran militias have attacked American bases in Iraq and Syria. Is this Sarajevo 2023?
