“The information was factually incorrect as Shah Rukh Khan was not named in the Panama Papers leak case,” an Income Tax department source told India Today. However, the actor is under the department scanner for his other investments in offshore destinations.

In the financial year 2016-17, actor Salman Khan leads the pack in Bollywood  by paying an advance tax of Rs 44.5 crore, whereas, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan paid an advance tax of Rs 29.5 crore and Rs 25.5 crore respectively.

Over 11 million leaked documents revealed that a Panama law firm, Mossack Fonseca, helped more than 500 Indians to set up offshore companies in tax havens around the world.
