UAE, Turkey Presidents Chart Course for Deeper Partnership

The presidents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey reaffirmed their commitment to a stronger relationship during a recent meeting in Abu Dhabi. This latest encounter underscores a period of increasing cooperation between the two regional powers.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, welcomed his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for talks that focused on expanding collaboration across various sectors. The economic dimension of the UAE-Turkey relationship has received a significant boost with the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) earlier this year. The leaders highlighted their focus on maximizing the benefits of CEPA for businesses and citizens.

Beyond economic ties, the UAE and Turkey also reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional stability. The discussions between the presidents touched upon various regional and international issues. The UAE’s hosting of the upcoming COP28 climate conference in Dubai was another point of discussion. President Erdogan’s participation in the conference is seen as a positive step, reflecting growing UAE-Turkey collaboration on climate action and renewable energy initiatives.
