The Remains tells the story of a family that moves into an old Victorian home, where they discover a chest in the attic containing antiques tainted by a spirit. Catch a screening of the 2010 German documentary Dancing Dreams – In the Footsteps of Pina Bausch, directed by Anne Lisel and Rainer Hoffmann. The film follows the preparation of a show based on Bausch’s choreography, made with 50 teenagers who had no previous stage experience, some of whom had never danced. A discussion will follow, led by Morgane Gauvin, who studied Bausch. The film – in German with French subtitles – includes Bausch’s final interview before her death in 2009.

The NSO Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Berryman, presents Hansel & Gretel, Engelbert Humperdinck’s fully-staged opera in the style of Wagner. It features the mezzo-soprano Louise Merrifield as Hansel and the soprano Julia Teal Kermott as Gretel along with a cast of 80 Abu Dhabi children in the gingerbread chorus, witch’s dance and angel ballet.
