The Fridge Concert Series is back and kicks off tonight with a performance to mark International Jazz Day, which was celebrated yesterday. It features Samvel Gasparyan & Friends. The quartet is rounded out by trumpet and flugelhorn player Tonatuit Isidron, bassist Anthony Muthurajah and drummer Satya Darcy, who will perform a mix of original compositions and jazz standards. Yumtingz will be serving food from 7pm.

Emirati Adornment: Tangible & Intangible continues at Warehouse421. The ongoing Emirati memory project, Lest We Forget, presents an interactive exhibition that explores Emirati identity as conveyed through modes of adornment, both tangible – garments, jewellery, weapons and more – and intangible, including knowledge and skills used to apply henna, kohl and fragrance, as well as grooming and hairstyles.

It’s time again for Beat the Camel as the Yalla Laughs comedians take to the stage for a five-minute performance, during which they are challenged to outlast the judgment of the audience members, who hold three large camel cards. If all three cards go up, the comedian is sent off. Those who survive the camel cards go on to the final round to determine the winner.

Danu Theatre presents a Middle Eastern adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s 1879 play about a woman who forges her father’s signature to borrow money from her husband’s colleague and foe, as her husband needs life-saving medical treatment.
