Film screenings
Register to attend screenings of the films The Wizard of Oz and Tre Mogli (Three Wives) as part of the Cinema Space series at Manarat Al Saadiyat. The 1939 American classic The Wizard of Oz, directed by Victor Fleming, is presented in a newly restored version. The timeless film tells the story of Dorothy (Judy Garland), a farm girl who is caught in a tornado and ends up in the Land of Oz, where she needs the help of new friends to find her way home. Tre Mogli will be presented with actress Francesca D’Aloja in person. The 2001 Marco Risi film tells the story of three women from different walks of life, who discover one New Year’s Eve that their bank employee husbands have much more than their employer in common. The film is in Italian with English subtitles.

Book fair
Visit the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and enjoy a variety of literary and cultural events, including poetry readings, spoken word performances, book signings and talks. Events today include talks on Arab sculpture, Chinese women’s literature, happiness and scientific literacy. There will also be eight films at the Black Box Cinema and cooking demonstrations in the Show Kitchen. These include Cooking with Children at 9am and 11am, Food from Nawab’s Kitchen at 4pm, Polish Food at 6pm and Food with a Twist at 8pm.
